Dr. Paul Khavari is an internationally recognized physician-scientist and chair of the Department of Dermatology at Stanford. He is one of the top two NIH-funded physician-scientists in the field and the recipient of many awards, including the U.S. Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers from President Bill Clinton. In 2014, he became the youngest dermatologist elected to the National Academy of Medicine. Dr. Khavari earned his undergraduate degree at Stanford, his MD at Yale, his PhD in gene regulation at Stanford, and his postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard. Under Dr. Khavari’s leadership, Stanford Dermatology has grown to become the largest department of its kind in the world, with a fully integrated research program spanning fundamental discovery science to clinical translation to patient care.
